CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's top prosecutor Tarek Saab said on Wednesday he would open a criminal investigation into the publishers of a website showing election tallies collected by the country's opposition, which contests the July 28 election.
"It was decided to launch a criminal investigation against those responsible for the publication and maintenance of the website," Saab said in a statement, citing forgery of public documents, computer crimes and conspiracy.

No survivors from plane that crashed in Brazil with 61 people on board, officials say
The Voepass aircraft crashed into a residential area, although there were no reports of casualties on the ground
A passenger plane with 61 people on board has crashed in a fiery wreck in Brazil’s São Paulo state, killing all passengers and crew.
The airline Voepass initially reported 62 people had been on the plane but later revised the figure to 61, confirming the deaths of all 57 passengers and four crew members on board.
“At this time, Voepass is prioritizing provision of unrestricted assistance to the victims’ families and effectively collaborating with authorities to determine the causes of the accident,” the company said in a statement
“There are no survivors,” Col Emerson Massera of the Brazilian military police told reporters at the crash site in the city of Vinhedo late on Thursday.
Massera said the fire had been brought under control, but about 50 firefighters were still working to cool down the area. “It’s a very sad scene; our work now is focused on clearing the area so that the investigation and identification of the bodies can proceed,” he said.
The ATR-72 turboprop plane was en route from Cascavel, in the state of Paraná, to Guarulhos, in São Paulo, when it crashed in a residential neighbourhood about 76km away from the state capital.
No casualties were reported on the ground, according to Col Cassio Araújo de Freitas, the general commander of the military police, who said: “We have no reports of any other victims besides those on the aircraft.”
According to the Flight Radar website, the plane was traveling at 17,000ft before plunging 4,000ft in two minutes, and then its signal was lost.
Video shared on social media showed the plane spiraling out of control as it plunged down into a cluster of trees, followed by a large plume of black smoke.
Another clip showed flames and smoke coming from the plane fuselage where it had apparently plowed into the side of a house. Burning debris and at least one body could be seen strewn across the gardens of a residential area, while emergency vehicles arrived.
Ana Lúcia de Lima, who lives nearby, told the UOL news website that the noise was so loud it “sounded like it was falling into my house … The first blast was strong, there was already dark smoke coming out, and then there were several more explosions.”
Another resident, Daniel de Lima, said he heard a loud noise before looking outside and seeing the plane in a horizontal spiral.
“It was rotating, but it wasn’t moving forward,” he told Reuters. “Soon after, it fell out of the sky and exploded.”
The Brazilian air force and the federal police sent teams of investigators to the site.
The head of the air force’s Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Centre, Brigadier Marcelo Moreno, said that there was no timeline for the investigation to be completed. He said: “It is still very premature to say anything.”
But he said it was already clear that “there was no communication from the aircraft to the control authorities indicating an emergency”.
Voepass stated that the aircraft had taken off “without any flight restrictions, with all its systems functioning properly for the operation”.
Speaking at an event in southern Brazil on Friday afternoon, just minutes after the accident, the president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, called for a minute of silence for those lost in the crash.

Which state(s) could Kamala and Walz *realistically* try to win that she and Biden did not win in 2020 (flip from red to blue)?
#USElections
I was looking at the 2020 presidential election results the other day on Wikipedia, and based on the states that were won by a narrow margin by either candidate, most were won by Biden.
However, Trump won North Carolina by 1.35% (74,483 votes), which seems to be the most likely state Kamala and Walz could flip.
Although Florida was won by Trump by 3.36% (371,686 votes), it’s likely to remain red especially based on the 2022 governor election results.
I’m not sure how much effort the Harris campaign would/will put into Maine’s 2nd congressional district 7.44%, 27,996 votes).
By this point things are looking like more of a longshot. Trump won Ohio by 8.03% (475,669 votes).
Trump won Iowa by 8.20% (138,611 votes).
Based on this alone, it seems like only North Carolina could be where the Harris campaign could expand from 2020, but of course that would be in addition to holding the close states they won that election (Arizona, Georgia…).
Any thoughts on how the Harris campaign will proceed? Would the Harris campaign be better off with focusing all their efforts on maintaining what she and Biden won in 2020? Or would it depend how polls are trending in the next few/several weeks?
Edited to add: I completely missed mentioning Texas, my mistake. Trump had won by 5.58% (631,221 votes). Maybe if there’s a strong enough push this could be flipped?

Bethesda Announces New Elder Scrolls Mobile Game Dubbed 'Spiritual Successor' To Fallout: Shelter
The Elder Scrolls fans looking for a little fun to help stay occupied until the next Skyrim platform somehow drops now have a new answer. Bethesda has just announced Elder Scrolls: Castles, a semi-idle simulator mobile game that the team directly referenced as a “spiritual successor” to its prior mobile game, Fallout: Shelter.
The Elder Scrolls: Castles does share a lot of similar traits to its “spiritual predecessor,” Fallout: Shelter, with some changes. What remains are a lot of the core gameplay system, such as unique/varying NPC “subjects,” the “room” system, and even external quests your subjects can take to level up and gather materials.
It’s definitely a lot more light-hearted and casual in presentation than just about any other Elder Scrolls franchise title in both aesthetic and gameplay style. There are more aesthetic choices that can be made, though some do seem to affect how gameplay shakes out. Players can also change the layout of the castle, which makes decision-making a little less urgent.
It seems Castles leans a lot more into certain storytelling decisions similar to the Reigns mobile series of games (or just about any decision-making game). Different choices will have different costs and outcomes, but like any choice-making game, it’ll be vital to the future of your castle.
The rogue-lite combat system also seems a bit more intensive this time around, though in a way that looks like it’ll make it more approachable and engaging on a regular basis. The actual combat has a more fleshed-out UI, and players can pick up level-ups and the like that’ll help more immediately.
The release date is sooner than it looks, being set for September 10 through Google Play and the App Store. There's also some nifty art on the official website.
